This
extraordinary ancient ritual brings an overall sense of balance and peace to the
mind and body. A stream of warm oil falls lightly onto the forehead and is then
massaged into the hair and scalp, followed by a relaxing massage and a soothing,
moist heat wrap.
It is highly recommended to rest and relax after Shirodhara, as the mind will be
very calm. Many people comment on experiencing new levels of yoga, prayer, or
meditation after the session. It is common to remain in a near blissful state of
peace and harmony for up to five days after Shirodhara.
